BLACK PEOPLE SURF?
A documentary that chronicles the renaissance of Black surf culture in Southern California.

The Challenge
Eddie Bauer wanted to tell a story that help all people feel invited, accepted, and validated in their full range of outdoor experiences and illuminate important narratives.
The Solution
We responded by crafting a short documentary that not only celebrated the underrepresented presence of Black surfers in Southern California but also shed light on the challenges they face. It highlighted their resilience, showcased their initiatives to create a more inclusive surfing community, and that the ocean is for everybody.
